POSITION OVERVIEW

Harbor Health is seeking a dedicated Cardiologist to join our innovative healthcare team in Austin. As a Cardiologist at Harbor Health, you will provide specialized cardiac care to our members while contributing to our mission of transforming healthcare through our unique payvider model. You'll collaborate with our multidisciplinary team to deliver comprehensive, member-centered cardiac care that prioritizes both clinical excellence and value.

POSITION DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide comprehensive cardiovascular care to members including consultations, diagnostic testing interpretation, and treatment planning
  • Perform detailed cardiac examinations and develop customized care plans for members with cardiovascular conditions
  • Interpret cardiac diagnostic tests including ECGs, echocardiograms, stress tests, and cardiac catheterization results
  • Collaborate with primary care providers and other specialists to coordinate comprehensive care for members with complex medical needs
  • Participate in care team meetings to develop integrated treatment approaches
  • Implement evidence-based protocols for the management of common cardiovascular conditions
  • Contribute to quality improvement initiatives and clinical outcome measurements
  • Maintain thorough and accurate electronic medical records
  • Stay current with the latest advancements in cardiovascular medicine
  • Participate in on-call rotation as needed
  • Engage in member education regarding cardiovascular health, prevention, and management
 

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
  • Board certification in Cardiovascular Disease
  • Active Texas medical license (or eligibility)
  • 3+ years of clinical practice experience preferred
  • Experience with various cardiac diagnostic procedures and interpretation
  • Strong understanding of preventive cardiology and risk reduction strategies
  • Familiarity with value-based care models and population health management
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex medical concepts clearly to members
  • Experience with electronic medical record systems
  • Commitment to collaborative, team-based care
  • Interest in innovative healthcare delivery models
  • Ability to balance clinical excellence with efficient, value-oriented care
