Position Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Designer – Floral is to produce and create floral & themed-floral designs for both retail and in-house events and projects.

All duties are to be performed in accordance with departmental and The Venetian Casino Resort’s policies, practices, and procedures. This is a safety-related position.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

• Create floral designs for designated areas.
• Set up designs for various events, weddings, and in hotel areas.
• Process & fill all floral and basket amenity orders.
• Create unique trend setting arrangements.
• Communicate with management for special requests and requirements.
• Prioritize work and communicate with management and co-workers.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
• Inspect designs to ensure proper standards.
• Provide outstanding customer service.
• Attend required safety and department training classes.
• Work in an appropriate non-hazardous manner to avoid self-injury and unsafe work methods.
• Receive floral product, check quality control, and organize product.

Additional Duties & Responsibilities:

• Drive/operate company vehicles to travel between properties.
• Attend briefings with clients to customize and plan floral designs.
• Safety is an essential function of this job.
• Consistent and regular attendance is an essential function of this job.
• Other duties as directed by management

Minimum Qualifications:

• 21 years of age.
• Proof of authorization/eligibility to work in the United States.
• High School Diploma.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a valid Nevada Driver's License, Alcohol Awareness (TAM) card, Food Handling Card and any other certification or license, as required by law or policy.
• 3 years’ experience in floral industry.
• Demonstrate thorough knowledge of principles of floral design & flower knowledge.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both in spoken and written form.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with guests and other Team Members of different backgrounds and levels of experience.
• Must be able to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

Physical Requirements:

Must be able to:

• Lift or carry up to 50 pounds, unassisted, in the performance of specific tasks, as assigned.
• Physically access all areas of the property with or without a reasonable accommodation.
• Operate company machines/lifts.
• Work in various heights.
• Maintain composure under pressure and consistently meet deadlines with internal and external customers and contacts.
• Ability to interact appropriately and effectively with guests, management, other Team Members, and outside contacts.
• Ability for prolonged periods of time to walk, stand, stretch, bend and kneel .
• Work in a fast-paced and busy environment.
• Work indoors and be exposed to various environmental factors such as, but not limited to, CRT, noise, dust, and cigarette smoke.
