Status: Exempt
Salary Range | Employer Estimate: $90,000 - $105,000
Primary Objective: The Director of Operations is responsible for directing actions across and overseeing the successful operations of the Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel to ensure the highest guest satisfaction, and that operations and financial goals are met. Responsible for Front Office, Bell Stand, Valet, Restaurant & Bar, Engineering & Housekeeping.
Areas of Accountability: - Knowledge of all hotel operating procedures
- Knowledge of industry’s legal rules and guidelines
- Planning and monitoring the day-to day running of the business to ensure smooth progress
- Liaising with superiors to make decisions for operational activities and set strategic goals
- Evaluate regularly the efficiency of business procedures according to organizational objectives and apply improvements.
- Evaluate overall performance by gathering, analyzing and interpreting data and metrics.
- Ensure that the company runs with legality and conformity to established regulations.
- Ability to reduce costs as needed.
- Ability to lead a large group
- Oversees the day-to-day operations in Front Office, Valet, Bell Stand, Food & Beverage, Housekeeping and Engineering.
- Revise and/or formulate policies and promote their implementation.
- Oversees large hotel events
- Ensure company standards for housekeeping, décor and guest services are met

- Ensures high service standards are met through observation, tests, surveys, etc.
- Conducts monthly departmental meetings.
- Addresses maintenance issues and follows-up as needed until resolved
- Collaborates with all departments and agencies and enforces health and safety standards.
- Maintains a positive relationship with external vendors
- Ensures positive associate relations through open communication.
- Monitor staff performance and provide constructive feedback, ensuring the hotel is running well and guests are happy
- Responds quickly to associate and guest requests or complaints in a friendly manner and takes appropriate action. Follows up to ensure satisfaction.
- Implements standard operating procedures to bolster brand awareness.
- Interview, hire, train, develop, conduct performance evaluations, resolve problems, and recommend discipline and/or termination when appropriate for staff members.
- Demonstrate and enforce high standards of appearance and grooming.
- Attentive, helpful and friendly to all customers, guests, managers and fellow employees.
- Maintain a clean and neat work area including all files, binders and accounting documentation.
- Set budgets and room rates, allocate funds and approve expenditures for various departments
- Review financial information and adjust operational budgets to promote profitability.
- Ability to manage several budgets
- Keep track of the hotel’s financials
- Creates reports and presentations for the hotel owner and/or executive team
- Keeps managers/supervisor fully informed of all problems or matters of significance.
- Performs all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
- Responsible for the team leadership and results at each hotel property.
- Ability to communicate effectively in ownership meetings with detailed financial, operational, revenue management, marketing, and competitive analysis expertise.
- Continual communication with the Hotel General Manager and support personnel to ensure that priorities for revenue management, marketing, cost controls, team leadership, safety, policy compliance, team development, guest service quality, reservation efficiencies, and other operational facets are attended to daily.
- Manage priorities while multi-tasking and providing follow-up to the necessary details.
- Monitor changing competitive conditions and implement and communicate changes as needed in a timely manner.
- Budgeting, forecasting, planning, sales development, contract negotiating, vendor relations and pricing, capital improvement management, and other related business management skills are essential.
- Ability to maintain a motivating, positive work environment that holds team members accountable for the results.
- Identify and help develop future leadership.
- Develop and implement well defined strategies to improve profitability at hotel that are in sync with the company’s defined objectives.
- Maintains a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working environment.
- Adheres to company policies and procedures.
- Attends work as scheduled.
- Follows hotel’s dress and grooming standards.
- Minimizes safety hazards by following all safety rules and procedures.
- At all times, projects a favorable image of Luxe Sunset Boulevard Hotel to the public.

- Standing/Walking: Constantly. Standing/walking the majority of scheduled shift
- Kneeling/Crawling: Occasionally. Completing tasks throughout the hotel
