Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is seeking to hire Full time Line Leads (Manufacturing Specialist II) for our Bakery, located at 2020 Westmoreland St., Richmond, VA 23230.  We currently have first shift (5am - 1:30pm) and second shift (2pm - 10:30pm) available.  There could be occasional overtime and holiday shifts required during peak seasons.    Position Summary : The Manufacturing Specialist II is a position that requires leadership abilities and/or technical skills beyond a Manufacturing Specialist I. This position may assists with preparation of products, schedules and daily production flow.  Successful candidates, must be able to work a flexible schedule and work the posted schedule. Must be a team player and self-motivated, ability to effectively communicate with supervisors and coworkers, and knowledgeable in the principles of sanitation and Food safety.   Primary Responsibilities :  Supporting Assistant Production Manager, daily, by directing work flow to meet labor and production objectives Assisting with production, equipment and new hire training Verifying and calculating batch yield and size adjustments as needed Monitoring production and associate morale throughout the shift Assisting with ensuring department needs for supplies and ingredients are met throughout shift Staging raw and packaging materials for daily production  Frequently communicating with leadership and other departments ensuring production goals Assist with training and development of associates Supports GFSI and FSMA. Assists in ensuring that the SQF system is in place and that we follow all aspects of HACCP plan, SSOPs, and GMPs throughout the plant.  Reports all food safety issues to an immediate supervisor Supports an accident-free work culture.  When developing, or modifying production processes, assists in accident prevention and risk identification. Collaborates with HR/Safety Manager to minimize risk exposure from ingredient, equipment, or ergonomics Minimum Physical Requirements : The position responsibilities may frequently require: Reading, comprehending, and following verbal and written instructions Performing basic arithmetic to execute duties described above (measuring, follow recipes) The physical demands of the position may frequently include: Standing and/or walking for a minimum of four hours Repetitive bending, reaching, stooping, pushing, pulling, and lifting product weighing up to 50 lbs  Exposure to variations in temperature caused by equipment Education and Experience :   High School Diploma or GED preferred, not required Minimum of 1 year (1) leadership experience or training preferred Six to twelve (12) months of food service or food manufacturing experience preferred Must have knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook Demonstrated ability to learn specific and specialized equipment of bakery production Demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with other leadership, customers and associates Benefits :   As a full-time associate with Ukrop’s Homestyle Foods you will be offered the following: Affordable healthcare upon eligibility Company-sponsored Life Insurance  Short Term/Long Term Disability Company 401(k) upon eligibility Paid Time Off Birthday PTO Associate Referral Bonus Shift Differential on eligible shifts Competitive Salary and more Ukrop's Homestyle Foods is an Equal Opportunity Employer
