Responsibilities:
As a Medical Assistant Instructor, your responsibilities will include:
Lesson Planning & Instruction: Design and deliver engaging, comprehensive lesson plans that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
Instructional Areas: Provide instruction in a variety of areas, including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, patient care, and medical office administration.
Hands-on Guidance: Demonstrate and model proper techniques, safety practices, and ethical standards in medical assisting, both in the classroom and during lab sessions.
Student Engagement: Create a positive, inclusive learning environment where students feel encouraged to participate and grow.
Clinical Support: Supervise and support students during laboratory work, simulations, and clinical practice, ensuring they gain practical, real-world experience.
Assessments & Feedback: Evaluate student progress through exams, practical assessments, and continuous feedback. Provide constructive guidance to help students develop their professional and clinical skills.
Individualized Support: Identify and address the individual learning needs of students, offering support to those who may require additional assistance.
Ongoing Professional Development: Stay up-to-date with the latest medical practices, trends, and advancements in the field of medical assisting.
Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues to enhance curriculum, improve program offerings, and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
Classroom Maintenance: Ensure a clean, organized, and safe classroom and lab environment for students.
Mentorship: Serve as a mentor and resource, offering guidance and support to students throughout their journey to becoming medical assistants.
Requirements:
To be considered for this role, the ideal candidate will meet the following qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentials are preferred.
A minimum of 3 years of experience as a practicing medical assistant.
Prior teaching or training experience, particularly in a medical assisting or healthcare education setting, is highly desirable.
Strong knowledge of medical assisting principles, practices, and industry standards.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts and techniques in a clear, understandable way.
A patient, enthusiastic, and genuine passion for teaching and mentoring aspiring medical assistants.
Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Proficiency in instructional technology and the ability to incorporate multimedia resources into teaching.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.
A commitment to fostering an inclusive learning environment that respects diversity and promotes student success.
Proficient in basic computer skills.
Work Hours & Availability:
Day and evening positions available, with some flexibility for remote work options.
