Job Description: Pharmacy Manager

Position Overview:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled pharmacist to fill the role of Pharmacy Manager at our Lexington, Kentucky location. We offer a relocation stipend of $20,000-$25,000 and will cover the costs associated with license reciprocity.
The Pharmacy Manager will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of pharmacy operations, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing leadership to the pharmacy team. This position requires exceptional attention to detail, strong multitasking abilities, and the ability to effectively lead and inspire a team.

Responsibilities:

  1. Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations governing pharmacy operations.
  2. Oversee the daily operations of the pharmacy, including prescription dispensing, medication counseling, and patient care services.
  3. Maintain accurate and complete records of all pharmacy transactions, including prescription orders, inventory management, and controlled substance dispensing.
  4. Develop and implement policies and procedures to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the pharmacy.
  5. Provide guidance and support to pharmacy staff, including pharmacists, technicians, and other personnel, fostering a positive work environment.
  6. Conduct performance evaluations and provide ongoing feedback and training to pharmacy staff to enhance their skills and ensure consistent high-quality service.
  7. Monitor medication inventory levels and coordinate with suppliers to ensure an adequate supply of medications while minimizing waste.
  8. Collaborate with healthcare providers, insurance companies, and other stakeholders to resolve any medication-related issues or concerns.
  9. Handle customer inquiries, concerns, and complaints, providing excellent customer service and ensuring timely resolution.
  10. Stay updated on industry trends, new medications, and regulatory changes affecting pharmacy practice, and implement necessary adjustments to maintain compliance.
  11. Participate in pharmacy quality improvement initiatives and drive continuous improvement in operational efficiency and patient care outcomes.
  12. Conduct regular audits and inspections to identify and address any potential compliance or safety issues.
  13. Maintain a safe and clean working environment, ensuring adherence to infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications :

  1. Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) degree from an accredited pharmacy school preferred
  2. Current and valid state pharmacist license without any disciplinary actions.
  3. Proven experience working as a pharmacist in a retail or clinical pharmacy setting, with at least 3-5 years of experience preferred.
  4. Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
  5. Exceptional attention to detail and the ability to multitask effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  6. In-depth knowledge of pharmacy laws, regulations, and best practices, with a commitment to ensuring compliance.
  7. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written.
  8. Proficiency in pharmacy software systems and technology used in pharmacy operations.
  9. Ability to make critical decisions independently and handle stressful situations with composure.
  10. Strong problem-solving abilities and the capacity to prioritize tasks and delegate responsibilities accordingly.
