Position: School Nurse (RN)
Location: Ashburn, VA
Contract Duration: 1+ year
Schedule:

• Monday/Wednesday: 6:45 AM - 2:45 PM
• Tuesday/Thursday/Friday: 5:45 AM - 5:30 PM
  Guaranteed Hours: 52 hours per week

Job Summary
We are seeking a qualified and dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) to provide professional nursing services within a school district. This role involves health office coverage, substituting for school nurses, short-term assignments at individual schools, and cross-training for Private Duty Nursing (PDN) . The ideal candidate will have strong pediatric nursing skills and the ability to adapt to diverse school environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver health office support across multiple schools, substituting for or assisting regular school nurses as needed.
• Fulfill short-term assignments at individual schools.
• Provide care for a nonverbal, non-ambulatory child with g-tube feeding and seizure activity, including seizure recognition and response.
• Accompany the student on the bus as required and collaborate with another nurse to ensure optimal care.
• Train to provide substitute health office coverage throughout the district.

Qualifications

• Active RN license in the state of Virginia.
• Current AHA BLS certification and COVID-19 vaccination.
• Demonstrated experience with nonverbal, non-ambulatory children, seizure management, and g-tube feeding.
• Preferred: Critical care pediatric experience (LPNs with relevant expertise will also be considered).
• Strong adaptability and ability to work effectively in school environments.
