Job Description

We are looking for a passionate and certified Special Education Teacher to join our remote teaching team for students in grades K-8. This independent contractor position will start as soon as possible and will continue through the end of the school year, potentially extending through the beginning of June depending on any snow days.

Key Details:
Start/End Date: ASAP - End of May/early June
Location: Remote (serving students in Kentucky)
Certification Required: Kentucky Certification
Caseload: 15 students
Grade Levels: K-8
Schedule: Split between two school settings: one day at a middle school and one day at an elementary school. You will co-teach alongside an onsite teacher at both locations.

Responsibilities:
Individualized Instruction: Deliver tailored special education services to students based on their Individualized Education Program (IEP) to ensure their educational needs are met.
Co-teaching: Work closely with onsite teachers at both middle and elementary school levels, helping students thrive in both general and special education settings.
Adapting Curriculum: Modify lesson plans and learning materials to accommodate the diverse needs of students with various disabilities and learning challenges.
Progress Monitoring: Track and report on student progress toward their IEP goals. Provide updates and maintain documentation as required.
Collaboration: Collaborate with general education teachers and school staff to create an inclusive learning environment where all students can succeed.
Accommodations & Modifications: Assist in the development and adjustment of accommodations and modifications as specified in students' IEPs.
Direct Instruction: Provide effective instruction in both group and one-on-one settings, utilizing a variety of teaching strategies and resources to engage students.
Professional Development: Participate in virtual meetings, professional development opportunities, and IEP meetings as necessary to stay updated and continuously improve.
Communication with Families: Maintain regular communication with parents and guardians to update them on student progress and address any questions or concerns.

Salary: $ 46,000.00 62,000.00 Per Year
