Job Description

Responsibilities :

• Work with the Director of Academic Support and the Purcell Promise Program to create and implement the Purcell Promise curriculum and lessons;
• Help oversee and implement Individualized Service Plans for students with IEPs or 504 Plans;
• Work directly with students who need executive functioning support: organization, planning, prioritizing, and following through on tasks;
• Collaborate with teachers, school counselors, and parents to understand students’ emerging needs, communicate progress, and coordinate plans;
• Participate in school meetings;
• Work with regular education teachers in a team effort to plan curriculum and student support;
• Develop a cadre of “sister” students to partner with students in the new program for students with more significant learning differences.

• A sense of humor, warmth, and a love of working with young adolescents and their families.

Education and Experience Requirements :

• A masters degree in Special Education or Reading Specialist preferred; and
• Experience working with students with diverse learning needs.
