Position at Mopac
Duties include but not limited to:
Perform, and provide direction to all other mechanics to perform, preventative maintenance & light to heavy diagnostics & repairs on all vehicles & vehicle attachments including but not limited to heavy, medium & light duty vehicles, gasoline & diesel powered vehicles, tractor trailers, cars & pickup trucks, forklifts, farm equipment etc.. Repairs & diagnostics can include but are not limited to brake work, repairing lights, air & hydraulic systems, exhaust systems, battery & charging systems, engine cooling systems, suspension work, drive train & chassis, automatic & manual transmissions, engines & engine accessories, computer /sensor diagnostics, fabrication & welding work, trailer repair, cab air conditioning repair, transport refrigeration repair & tire repairs.
Manage daily operation of repairs at the Fleet Service Center, coordinating efforts with all shifts, parts personnel, scheduler & Fleet Manager. Prioritize repair orders determined by equipment needs, seriousness of the need & departure times. Prioritize driver write-ups based on DOT maintenance regulations. Assign work to mechanics.
Review repair work performed by mechanics to ensure all work is complete and paperwork is completed properly. Process phone requests for emergency repairs when the scheduler is unavailable. Cross train and cover absences of part’s inventory controller position.
Qualifications:
Minimum of 7 years experience as an automotive mechanic
Class A commercial driver’s license (tanker endorsement a plus)
Class 7 Pennsylvania state inspection license
Section 609 refrigeration license
Must have great communication skills
Must read, write & communicate in English
Past supervisor experience a plus
Equipment
Employee must provide own Tool box + tools (1/2” drive & below) Company will supply larger & specialized tooling
Environment:
Uncontrolled temperatures (hot/cold) inside and outside facility.
