Med Aide

Focal Point Medical Staffing is hiring  Medication Aide (Med Aide)for per diem (PRN) positions at one of our Assisted Living partners in Kannapolis, NC! See below for full details and benefits

Salary Range: $21.00/hr.

Schedule/Shifts: 8p-8a

Position Requirements: 

• Must be active on Medication Aide Registry
• FULLY VACCINATED COVID CARD **REQUIRED** 
• Two forms of identification (Driver's License and Social Security card) 
• Two References from past/current employer 
• Most recent n egative PPD (within last 12 months) OR Chest X-ray (within last 5 years)
• Current CPR Certification 
• 6+ months of Medication Technician (Med-Tech) experience
• Clean criminal background (OIG, SAMS, OFAC) 
• Ability to pass a drug screening
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to follow instructions and work as part of a team
• Reliable transportation

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: 

• Assist patients with daily needs, such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and personal hygiene 
• Monitor and record vital signs, blood glucose, and other patient information as directed 
• Administer medications to patients as prescribed by the physician or nurse
• Assist patients in therapy and rehabilitation programs 
• Assist in the maintenance of a clean and safe environment for patients 
• Provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families 
• Report any changes in patient condition or behavior to the registered nurse or licensed practical nurse 
• Document patient care activities accurately and in a timely manner

Working Conditions: 

The MedTech will be required to work in a healthcare facility, including hospitals, nursing homes, and assisted living facilities. The job may require the MedTech to lift and move patients or heavy equipment. Evening, weekend, and holiday work may be required.
