We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Medical Assistant Instructor to join our faculty. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering comprehensive instruction, developing engaging lesson plans, and mentoring students as they acquire the skills needed to excel in the medical assisting profession. Your work will help ensure that students are well-prepared to make a difference in the healthcare field.
Key Responsibilities:
Lesson Planning and Instruction:
Design and deliver engaging lesson plans that align with the curriculum and learning objectives.
Provide both theoretical and practical instruction in key areas, including medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, clinical procedures, patient care, and medical office administration.
Skill Demonstration and Supervision:
Demonstrate proper techniques, safety practices, and ethical standards for medical assisting.
Supervise hands-on student activities, including laboratory work, simulations, and clinical practice.
Student Assessment and Support:
Evaluate student progress through examinations, practical assessments, and performance reviews.
Offer constructive feedback to enhance students' professional and clinical skills.
Identify individual learning needs and provide tailored support to help students succeed.
Program Collaboration and Development:
Stay informed on current medical practices and industry trends to maintain program relevance.
Collaborate with colleagues on curriculum development and program improvement initiatives.
Classroom and Laboratory Management:
Create a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe learning space.
Mentorship:
Serve as a mentor and resource for students, offering guidance on their educational and professional journey.
Qualifications:
Education and Certification:
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) credentials preferred.
Experience:
Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a practicing medical assistant.
Prior teaching or training experience, particularly in medical assisting or healthcare education, is highly desirable.
Skills and Attributes:
Strong knowledge of medical assisting principles, practices, and industry standards.
Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills to effectively teach and engage students.
Patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for educating and mentoring.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Proficiency with instructional technology and multimedia teaching tools.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and medical office software.
Commitment to fostering an inclusive and respectful learning environment.
Hours and Availability:
We offer day and evening positions, including the flexibility of a partial work-from-home/remote schedule.
