Job Description

Pearson Construction and TERA Architects are looking for a Project Architect to join our talented design team!

The desired candidate will be responsible for working with project managers under the direction of our Lead Architect detailing commercial, industrial, and institutional construction documents—knowledge of building codes, Michigan Barrier Free, Storm Water Permit, and Pre-Engineered buildings a necessity. 

• 3 - 5 years of experience
• Bachelor of Architecture (5-year degree)
• The ideal candidate would be a Registered Architect

Specific job functions:

• Proven work experience as an Architectural Project Manager, Designer, or similar role
• Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and other design software
• Strong portfolio showcasing high-quality architectural designs
• Sound understanding of construction techniques and the ability to develop construction details independently
• Ability to sketch detailed drawing plans by using CAD applications
• Excellent design and visualization skills
• Collaborate with architects, engineers, and project managers to gather product and structural requirements and designs
• Create architectural designs and highly detailed drawings by using computer-aided design (CAD) applications
• Specify materials and furnishings, such as lighting, furniture, wall finishes, flooring, and plumbing fixtures
• Prepare detailed architectural designs, plans, and specifications
• Present and review design proposals and development drawings to clients for approval.
• Work closely with a team of builders and contractors to ensure the project is drawn to meet the project requirements and budget.
• Consider factors such as safety, cost, and functionality when designing structures
• Stay updated with the latest architectural trends and advancements
• Ability to multitask and manage several projects at a time.
• Exceptional attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Interpersonal skills to work within a team, taking direction from Project Managers and Engineers
• Time management skills to complete error-free work within the required timeframe
• Communication skills with an emphasis on reading and writing for creating documentation and reports
• Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to develop creative solutions
