Senior Benefits Administrator, a strategic role integral to our growth and success. This position isn't just about administration; it's about leading the design and delivery of our benefit strategy, a key factor in attracting and retaining top talent, and enabling our expanding business to scale effectively. In this role, you'll be at the helm of end-to-end administration for all benefits programs, ensuring compliance, and overseeing reporting, all while maintaining an eye on strategic objectives. Your responsibilities will encompass a blend of strategic planning and customer-focused design, coupled with operational excellence, to deliver specific programs. Your role will be crucial in contributing to the overall strategic decisions and vision of our People function. By leveraging your deep understanding of market trends, you'll be instrumental in continuously enhancing our employee experience and cementing InnovAge's reputation as an exceptional place to work. - End-to-End Benefits Program Administration: Responsible for the thorough oversight of all benefits programs, guaranteeing adherence to applicable legal requirements and maintaining effective reporting processes. This role involves a strategic and detailed approach to the administration of various benefits initiatives, ensuring they align with both regulatory standards and organizational objectives. Administer all employee benefit programs, including insurance and investment plans, and serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries.
- Benefits Philosophy and Strategy Development: Design and advocate for InnovAge's benefits philosophy and strategy, ensuring alignment with company values, culture, and business objectives. Engage in strategic planning, focusing on customer-centric design and operational excellence to effectively deliver of specific benefits programs.
- Program Design and Evaluation: Continuously design and assess benefits programs, making recommendations to enhance InnovAge's benefit strategy to impact our competitive positioning for talent and employee experience. Ensure that all programs operate to a high standard, align with company policies, and comply with all legal, regulatory, and disclosure requirements.
- Communication and Training : Develop and implement effective communication strategies and training programs to enhance employee engagement and understanding of benefits. Present benefit information to new employees and coordinate enrollment procedures for various company benefits.
- Analysis and Leadership Reporting: Prepare and present detailed analyses and recommendations to senior leadership, providing guidance and thought leadership. Conduct periodic audits of benefit plans for accurate reporting and cost management, and work with brokers for benchmark analysis to maintain competitive benefits. Ensure meticulous record-keeping and data management in compliance with government regulations, including maintaining the HRIS system. Responsible for regular and ad-hoc reporting related to benefits, conducting benefit analysis and maintaining all relevant benefit documentation and forms.
- Vendor and Insurance Partner Oversight: Provide oversight to insurance partners, consultants, and carriers, ensuring accurate enrollment data management and efficient service delivery. Collaborate with key internal departments (Finance, Legal, People Operations) to ensure streamlined administration and exceptional customer service.
- Provider Evaluation and Implementation: Assist in the evaluation, selection, and implementation processes for new benefit providers, including managing requests for proposals. Identify, assess, and manage relationships with external vendors and administrators, ensuring cost-effective and high-quality service delivery.
- Open Enrollment and Plan Transfers Management : Administer all employee benefit programs, including insurance and investment plans, and serve as the primary contact for employee benefits inquiries. Assist in managing the full open enrollment process and oversee benefit plan transfers in accordance with policy guidelines. Address and resolve administrative challenges, including claims issues with carriers.
- Operational Efficiency and System Maintenance: Maintain systems for efficient operations and processing, including reconciliation of carrier invoices and resolution of any data discrepancies.
Qualifications:
- 5+ yrs administering benefits or related duties, showcasing a deep understanding and practical application of benefits management.
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a closely related field.
- Proficient knowledge of group insurance products and retirement plan fundamentals, along with a solid understanding of working with Health and Welfare plans.
- A comprehensive understanding of compliance and regulatory requirements, including ERISA, HIPAA, Workers' Compensation Act, and other relevant state/federal statutes and regulations. This includes advanced knowledge of 401(k), STD/LTD/FMLA, and global wellness plans.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to empathetically listen, simply and clearly , and maintain transparent and high-integrity communication styles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with exceptional business insight. The ability to rigorously measure and analyze to meet business objectives and improve effectiveness.
- Ability to think creatively and outside the box to improve processes and thrive in environments that require building, learning, and continuous improvement.
- Proficiency in Excel coupled with excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail. Ability to prioritize multiple tasks, work with large amounts of data, and consistently meet all deadlines.
- Strong interpersonal skills with a customer-first mindset, capable of building credibility and effectively influencing multiple stakeholders, including executives.

Posted Salary Range: USD $90,000.00 - USD $115,000.00 /Yr.
