Job Description JSL is looking for Tech Writer to join the team in supporting Naval Surface Warfare Center, Port Hueneme Division
- Perform technical management of manuals which includes but is not limited to; proofreading, collaborating on analyzing edits, implementing redlines (authoring), and troubleshooting format as required.
- Perform technical editing of manuals which includes but is not limited to; proofreading, collaborating on analyzing edits, adjudicating redlines (authoring), and assisting troubleshooting format as required.
- Provide Analysis support for Engineering technical data and documentation to support and maintain configuration control of hardware and software products for existing configurations, new releases, change requests, and reports of defects.
- Conduct technical investigations and make recommendations to improve fleet readiness through improved sustainability by addressing technical data and training issues.
- Support analysis and tracking of engineering inputs and metrics to support technical requirements and program reviews including:
- Performance and Organizational management metrics, including coordinating work assignments, performing quality assurance of products, reviewing technical manuals and training course materials developed by team with Government POCs and led the revision of the materials based on comments received, while following the Standards, such as NAVEDTRA 130 series.
Requirements Required Skills: - At least 5 years of experience directly related to the management and coordination of personnel and activities in the support of the design, development, and production of training courses and course materials utilizing and in compliance with USN policies, procedures, and standards for Navy Combat Weapon Systems (such as NAVEDTRA 130 series standards). This experience may run concurrently with the five (5) years of experience developing and producing interactive/online technical documentation.
- 4 years of experience with Content Management Systems, Learning Management Systems, and/or Sharable Content Object Reference Model
- Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without the need for employer sponsorship, now or at any time in the future
- Must be able to obtain a U.S. Secret Security Clearance Level
Preferred Skills - Demonstrated experience with AutoCAD to prepare 2D or 3D drawings, wiring diagrams, circuit board assembly diagrams, and layout drawings used for the manufacture, installation, or repair of electrical equipment and SolidWorks.
